Assistant Project Manager
McKay joined East West Partners one week after receiving his Master’s degree from Texas A&M in May of 2018. He is now the assistant project manager for River Place in Wilmington, North Carolina. Having paid for his undergraduate degree by bartending, he enjoys the customer-facing aspects of the job as much as project-related roles.
McKay began his real estate career as a project manager on custom homes and small commercial projects. During his work on Century Square in College Station, TX, he gained an appreciation for Real Estate Development’s ability to enrich peoples’ lives. In rapid fashion, McKay pursued his education into the field of development. After first enrolling in the Master of Land and Property Development program at Texas A&M, he earned his Texas Real Estate License and began brokering commercial properties in every sector, from both sides of the table. While maintaining a reduced roll in construction, all of these activities taken together afforded him the opportunity to simultaneously learn and apply concepts from his master’s program and be effective at creating value for clients. In less than a year, McKay brokered $1m in commercial real estate deals, completed the reconstruction of a $1.5m apartment building, and earned his Master’s Degree from Texas A&M University.
Having grown up fishing and surfing on the Texas Gulf Coast, McKay and his wife decided to raise their two children by the beach. McKay serves as Treasurer for the Megan Cajigas foundation, is an active member of the Wilmington Downtown Inc Dream Committee, and teaches Sunday school to Kindergartners at Lifepoint Church.
